What does MIATA even mean?

The name miata derives from Old High German for โ€œrewardโ€. The Mazda MX-5 Miata is known by different names in various markets around the world. In many international markets, the car is simply called the MX-5, which is a designation used globally. In Japan, the car was originally sold under the Eunos brand as the Eunos Roadster but is also known as the Mazda Roadster. These names reflect regional branding and marketing strategies, but they all refer to the same beloved sports car.
